Choose between specific dates, recurring events (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly), time periods (e.g., "June - August"), or ongoing without a fixed date.
Inform participants in real-time about the safety situation: Green (all peaceful), Yellow (caution advised), Red (alert, follow instructions).

We use manual out-of-band verification through a challenge-response process. This means we personally contact you through an independent channel to securely confirm your identity.
Most ShowUp features work completely without an account. You only need a simple account if you want to make inquiries.

Server logs: Technical data is stored in server log files with each access (IP address, date/time, requested page, browser type). This data is used exclusively for technical security and is automatically deleted after 7 days. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in security).
The ShowUp app was developed according to the "Privacy by Design" principle:
• No user accounts required: The basic functions of the app can be used completely anonymously
• Optional accounts: An account is required for the inquiry system - the email address is only stored as a cryptographic hash
• Local data storage: Saved events are only stored on the device
• No device IDs: No device identifiers are transmitted to servers
• Organizers: During registration, the email address is only stored as an irreversible hash
• Server location: All data is processed on servers in Germany

These terms of service apply to the use of the ShowUp app and related services. By installing and using the app, you accept these terms.
ShowUp is a platform for discovering and organizing demonstrations, community actions, and volunteer activities. The app allows users to find and save events, and enables organizers to create and manage events.
The basic functions of the app (discovering events, saving events, push notifications) can be used without registration. An account is required for the inquiry system (communication with organizations).
Only an email address is required for registration. This is stored exclusively as a cryptographic hash and cannot be reversed. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

ShowUp only provides a platform. We assume no liability for the content of events or the behavior of organizers. Responsibility and liability for event content lies exclusively with the respective organizer. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms of service.
Organizations can apply for verification. Verification is performed through manual out-of-band verification using a challenge-response process: We personally contact each organization through their official website or email address to securely confirm their identity. Through this code verification process, we ensure that no third parties can create an account in the name of an organization.
Verification only confirms the identity of the organization, not the quality or legality of events. Users see only events from verified organizations by default. Unverified events are marked accordingly.
We reserve the right to change these terms of service at any time. Users will be notified in the app of significant changes.
